This is a medium to high tree with a narrow, conical crown. The bark is rough and flaky when the tree ages. The leaves are green and glossy, and remain on the tree late into autumn, once the leaves do turn, they change to a lovely yellow and red shade. The tree blossoms in April or May, flowers are white. The tree also bears fruit. It is suited to narrow streets, parks or private gardens. It is wind resistant (including coastal).
